We’re excited to reveal Boxbar has officially landed in our ninth country.
Earlier this month, we made our Swedish debut at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, hosted at the legendary Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
Working alongside our brilliant partners at ASM Global, we’re delivering our one-of-a-kind automated, self-service bar solution to help serve thousands of ice hockey fans from across the globe.
The numbers speak for themselves:
✅ 17 days of continuous international competition
✅ 34 ice hockey matches
✅ 6 Boxbar points of sale installed
✅ 12 self-serve taps in action ✅ And thousands of fans served!
This is the first time we've deployed in Sweden — and the first time Stockholm’s Avicii Arena has used self-serve bar technology and we’re proud to say the response from fans has been incredible since day one of the run.
Designed for speed & international audiences
Ice hockey fans are passionate — and they don’t want to miss any action because of bar queues and wait times.
Our auto-pouring self-service bar units are designed to boost service speeds by up to 360% serving two pints end-to-end in less than 30 seconds, reducing queues and increasing sales without compromising the customer experience.
With real-time language selection built into the interface, fans can order in the language they’re most comfortable with — something traditional bar staff simply can’t offer and a real game changer for international events and audiences.
Thank you, Stockholm
Huge thanks must go to our partners at ASM Global and to the teams at Stockholm Live and Avicii Arena for helping bring the Boxbar experience to Scandinavian sport.
With the championship final scheduled for 25th May, the IIHF World Championship continues — and we’re proud to be serving fans every step of the way. Interested to learn how Boxbar could help reinvent your arena, stadia, venue or event bars? Get in touch today.
