In Conversation: Co-founder and COO Andrew Thubron discusses Boxbar’s end-to-end service

Spearheading the operations at Boxbar is COO and co-founder Andrew Thubron. Andrew has 15 years experience in the construction industry, having worked extensively in the UK, Europe and Australia specialising in hospitality and retail. Before throwing himself into revolutionising beverage service by co-founding Boxbar, Andrew led award-winning projects with blue chip partners including Co-op and Punch Taverns and most notably consulting a well known coffee express machine rollout.

We sat down with Andrew to dig a little deeper into how a partnership with Boxbar comes to life and how our extensive team of in-house experts will take the reins to reinvent beverage service for your business.

After deciding to reinvent their bars with Boxbar’s automated, self-service solution, what’s required from the client?

Andrew: Not a great deal to tell the truth! At Boxbar we are very hands on and take control of the process right from the off. We let you know the power, data, water and spatial requirements of the terminals and then we just need to be given an installation date and time frame, along with the menu of drinks to be served, and we take care of everything else.

As a relatively young company, what credentials and experience does the team at Boxbar have?

Andrew: Boxbar may be new but our team has masses of experience!

As well as decades of experience at a strategic level both in the live events and hospitality industries working alongside the likes of BST Hyde Park, Coachella, Mad Cool, Afro Nation, Greene King, Stonegate Pubs and Punch Taverns we’re also proud to have a highly qualified team of in-house construction experts on board that allow us to provide the very best standards for our installations and deployments. The team includes qualified electrical engineers, qualified joiners (with over 20 years experience), plumbing and mechanical experts, project managers and Chartered Surveyors with decades of experience.

How long does it all take to set up and install?

Andrew: This might be the best bit. It partly depends on the type of solution you choose, but either way, I think you’ll be surprised at how quick it is...

Our Freestanding and Bar Top terminals are plug and play and take less than 10 minutes to set up! These can even be provided on wheels so our delivery team can simply pull up to your venue and roll the machines into place.

Even larger, more permanent, In-built Wall installations can be delivered in just a few days. We understand how fast paced the world of hospitality and events is and have created a solution that can keep up with the industry.

How does Boxbar support clients through the onboarding and delivery process?

Andrew: A key principle we follow at Boxbar is that: We Are Partners. And when we say this, we mean it in the truest sense. Our service is much more than providing installation and setup of the terminals.

Whether we’re at your venue taking measurements and photographs to ensure instals are millimetre perfect, instructing our in-house creative team to create 3D video mockups, terminal branding and event signage, delivering in depth training sessions and onsite technical support or sitting down to analyse your sales data and customer flow strategies with you, we are with you every step of the way.
